SUCCESS Project Extended Until Decmber 2006
Aug. 15, 2006 - Columbia, MO
Due to its overwhelming success and ability to control costs, DESE has granted a no cost extension to the SUCCESS project until December 2006. Previously the program was to end on Sep 31, 2006. Job Point and VR continue to work together in trying to secure a permanent home for what has turned out to be a tremendously helpful program.
State Rehabilitation Council Presented the SUCCESS System

The SUCCESS project was presented to the State Rehabilitation Council. The council was updated on the progress and statistical outcomes of the project so far. There was also a live demonstration of the website system.

Second PSA Hits the Air

The SUCCESS project has successfully produced and launched their second PSA advertising blitz. The success of the first ad campaign inspired the creation and announcement of this second PSA. You can view the PSAs online.
Advent Enterprises Changes Name to Job Point
April 2005 - Columbia, MO
Advent Enterprises - the Grant's Administrator changed its name this month. The organization's name was changed to Job Point to more clearly convey to the community their mission and services provided. You can reach Job Point at http://www.jobpointmo.org. Their old website (advent.org) will function until the end of 2005. SUCCESS Grant contact information was updated appropriately.
New Social Security Forms Integrated into the SUCCESS System

Several Social Security Administration forms were published to the public area of the SUCCESS online system. These forms are also integrated into the secure section of the website and system so that consumers can now benefit from even more forms being filled out for them automatically.
SUCCESS Named a Best Business Practice by CARF
May 2004 - Columbia, MO
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) recently reviewed and accedited Advent Enterprises, Inc. During the review process, CARF noted three areas in which "Advent Enterprises demonstrates exemplary conformance to the standards." Two of those three areas pertained to the SUCCESS Project. The report stated the following:
- Advent has designed, has developed, and effectively utilizes a sophisticated
information management system that measures its efficiency and effectiveness
and the satisfaction of persons served. The system is used as a significant
component of the planning, budgeting, and performance-based remuneration.
The detailed data gathered, synthesized, and analyzed appear to be of sufficiently
high quality and reliability as to provide the basis for research studies
of the organization and its programs. This information management system
is a model that should be considered for sharing with the entire rehabilitation
community.
- Advent has developed especially close working relationships with state vocational rehabilitation and workforce development programs that have resulted in a model program of seamless service integration. Of particular note is the use of advocates of persons served in the intake process in the One-Stop Career Centers.
